Rheem Heater Tank - Dripping Water

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've installed a Rheem water heater tank and it keep dripping water from the pressure relief valve when switched on.

I believe, it's due to the water boiling, pressure increase that causes the water to be vented out and the instruction says it's meant to be this way.

However, it's quite irritating. Is there anyway to reduce the water level in the tank to prevent from over-pressurizing ?

It is normal. there is suppose to be a drip pan connected to a flexible pipe to drain the water to the waste pipe.
