zirhk3355 1 Report post Posted March 2, 2007 IMO, it depends on the size of your home.If you are staying in a big bungalow, you probably won't know that the kitchen is on fire until its too late; so its impt to have that smoke detector alarm. But if its a small HDB flat, usually you will know it immediately, maybe even before the alarm goes off.So for small units, its a good-to-have lah, but not a must.
