The Right Order...... Please Help...

I am going to repaint my resale 5 room flat. The room floor is parquet and I would like to varnish it. So I would like to know, should I paint the room first or varnish the parquet floor first?

My ID painted first and then ll do varnish. Does make sense becuase the paint which could fall on the floor during painting can be removed during varnish.
