Looking out of my kitchen windows, the cleanliness state of most aircon ledges are really quite bad. See tissues, plastic bag, disposable cutlery, rags, clothes fallen from top, cigarettes butt etc. And this cigarette butt thing is really dangerous, what if the butt is still "live", drops on any of the hanging laundry and something happen. :(

Really hope that all neighbours can refrain from throwing things out of the windows. :yamseng:

used to be using the 8Mbps plan from starhub and decided to downgrade to the 2Mbps or 1Mbps (Cannot remember what it is now) plan also from starhub because of what you mentioned, slow down in the service during peak hours. thus no meaning to pay so much for a service that is by default slow, thus this low end plan even with slow downs is still about on par with the old 8Mbps plus all I use it for is for work purposes from home

Does anybody have any comments on SingNet Broadband vs Maxonline? ie how is the speed as compared to Maxonline? I'm currently still contracted to SNBB, contract ending in Oct. Thus, considering to recontract or subscribe to Maxonline instead. Any thoughts on this?

well living in Singapore is like that when more than 90% of the population lack basic civic counsciousness....

dripping of belongings hanged out to dry and note that I am not mentioning laundry, its jus about anything is placed outside to drip dry-how frustrating.

dog poo without bothering to pick up after the dog - pure selfish.

look at the state of blk89, in particular the 3 lifts that serves the carpark - atrocious.

cigarette butts even in front of door steps yet left there to accumulate more butts - bo chup.

the only thing that keeps me going is jus to close my eyes to their behaviours and get on with my own life.

we are far from being a gracious and world class society :(

anyway its monday so abit grouchy

I was using starhub maxonline previously at my parents' flat at one of the older blocks in Tanglin Halt, the connection was **** slow during peak hours. Now I am using singnet broadband and its really much better.

Yeah its not a very fair comparison because different blocks, but I still tend to have the belief that singnet is better because its a dedicated line, and I did experience better speed at my new flat.

I totally agreed with you, TYM. I was at home doing the laundry over the weekend (30-31 Aug). Hang out the washed and spinned dry clothes out on Sat morning. At around 1plus, someone from above hang out dripping-water clothes .... and my 90% dried clothes got wet again .... sigh ..... I look upwards and saw this unit ... actually was quite angry and wanted to go up and "chit-chat" with them. But after a while, I decided not to .... cos I believe they will have their tons of "reasons and excuses". That is for Saturday.

On Sunday, I decided to tidy and clean the ledges outside our toilets and aircon unit. Used a broom and mop to ensure nothing flew off and now its looks much better than before. But once you look down from the kitchen windows ... disgusting ... as what TYM said, got plastic bags, tissues, tins and cans, cigarettes, and once I saw paps. Sigh sigh ... really hope our neighbhours can make use of rubbish bags and bins.

And just this morning (Monday) at ard 7plus, I looked out from the kitchen windown and guess what I saw .... my neighbour staying one floor diagonally down ..... splashed (not sure incidental or by purpose) coffee out from the kitchen window and guessed most of it would have landed and now staining their external toilet walls ... and dripping to the neighbours' ledges staying below them. I will try to snap some photos to share with all of you here ... stay tuned ya!

Yes agreed with zirhk3355. SNBB dedicated BB line would be better off than SH cable, for one good reason, you have your own line!!! During peak hours, assuming 50% of our 40 floors use SH cable, your internet connection will be slowed for the obvious shared bandwidth reason (logic same as expressway during peak hours).

If you are just an occasional surfer and emailer, suggest you take up the 3MB SNBB, they are having attractive offer, think $26.90 for a 2-yr plan, and comes with wireless modem and $30 taka vouchers.

I am subscribed to SNBB 1MB when I shifted in last year, at $30+ per month. This month will be the 1st yr anniversary. The then 3MB plan was slightly more ex at $40+, hence decided to go for 1MB as I am the occasional surfer and emailer.

AND the next good thing is that if you have a singtel fixed residential line and a singtel mobile plan, and now together with SNBB, you can request for a combined monthly bill ..... easy to track and pay, and of cos, environmental friendly with less paper used, can also opt for online invoicing. Cheers.

Hope this helps. Cheers. :sport-smiley-003::notti::deal:

I just got MOL and kind of regret.. I checked and our area's quite congested with users... the connection can be very slow at peak hours.

Honestly, if you have singtel fixed line, I would recommend you to get Singnet. I didn't want to get fixed line, thus went with MOL.

Just checked this morning that this unit had "washed" up the walls ... not too sure if it was done by the heavy rain yesterday or is it that they sprayed water at the wee hours. Anyway, the walls look much better now. Cheers.

Anyone has feedback on the conditions of our dustbins located near the lift lobby and the walls at Blk 91?

Quite heart broken when I always see the walls dirtied and vandalised by wordings, advertisements and handprints, esp the areas near to the letterbox and sitting area. :help:

- sofa at blk89 got to be remove. So unsightly. :o

- those who hit their poles outside the aluminum holders outside the kitchen windows need to be hummer on the head :curse:

- pasting ads inside lift or even walls are also considered vandalism. Don't ask me how to catch them. Their HP are written all over. 8|

Thanks to all for your comments! Yes, the reason why I still much prefer to keep my SNBB plan is cos I intend to subscribe to the MIO plan, as the charges really look very attractive. Problem is, I just recontracted my ST mobile line before I moved in and to subscribe to MIO, we can't have more than 12 mths remaining contract. They said the earliest I can subscribe to MIO will be in Dec. Since it's just 3 mths away, will just wait then.

I've been on SNBB for the past 8 yrs, no complaints on the service and speed so far. :)

Has any of u called the Town Council to complain? I'm also very peeved by the state of rubbish lying around. For eg boxes and junk left by neighbours at the common chute area were not cleared. They just cleared last weekend I think, after allowing those rubbish to lie around for more than 1 mth! 8|

Singtel "Meow" is a good deal for singtel users. I have been using it for the last 1 year plus. However, make sure they do the setup for you properly..they gave me major cock-up and delay as I was the pioneer batch and they did not have the proper people/resources to troubleshoot. However, because of that and my attempt to write to straits times forum to "complain" about this matter, I was given a director's contact. With his help, the matter was resolved in 2 days.

*whispers* tell me when you need his contact to make things happen the way they should be. hehe..

Hehe...good that they managed to resolve things for u! Usually when a new pdt is launched, there are bound to be problems and technical glitches, and these early adopters always end up becoming like "guinea pigs".

To be frank, I used to work with a telco. ;) And I've seen how customers bang tables and give all sorts of threats just to get their way around (to the extent of trying to get a waiver of $0.10!!!). Dun be mistaken, I'm not referring to u but just trying to highlight the fact that most of these service providers will give in to customers demands if they know their reputation is at stake. Owing to my experience, think I also start to have higher expectations for the services I engage. :P Anyway, we pay a considerable amt and thus expect a good customer experience. Excuses like short of qualified personnel are not acceptable, as these shd have been anticipated and dealt with before the launch of a new service.

Precisely..not that we are expecting free gifts of anything of that sort. We just want what is rightfully ours after we have engaged their services and are bounded by the contract.

Agreed totally. So many advertisements at the letterbox area and lifts, esp the rental specialist and tuition people. Sigh .... perhaps there shd be an advertisement board at each block for them ... hehehe ... :paint:

As for the disposal of bulky furniture or items, they shd contact the TC. The contact is availabe at the notice board at the lift lobby.

I must give compliments to the "cleaning team" every morning and month. They sweep and mop the lift lobby as early as 7am (I witnessed that). Not too sure how often, but occasionally I can see a guy (cleaner) sweeping the corridor and chute areas. Well done! Also praised for the washing team, at least they are timely, and not bad a job .... less dust and marks. Keep it up!

Good to further improve the rubbish bins areas and walls ... for a start .... jia you! :good:
