All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!

Recommended Posts

My wife told me about students from nearby school using the stairway to do their "PE" thingy last week morning.

Yes, the 3rd lift (bigger cabin) serving 1st-21st floor for Blk 91 is retarded. Die die have to wait until the delaying alarm to activate in order to get the door shut. In fact, pressing the door close button for all lifts also delay most of the time. LCD info panel in some lifts are corrupted. So irritating

Am trying to do somethings until the forum starts the discussion here.

Yes please. let's us do something for the community. Lifts are essential for us, we use it at least twice a day unless you go down & up via the stairs, which is another horrible experience.

Shd also feedback to TC how the worker actually clean the floors cum stairs (if they do wash the stairs). Take photos and show them. Fused lights are not replaced. See already also sian. They shd have at least a weekly check cum maintenance thingy.

Hope they can buck very soon! :good:

Was on MC 2 fridays ago and saw a big group of students with a young teacher (think she is the teacher) at the "massage pebbles", they were quite noisy and i tot what happened. Not against neighbourhood schools from coming into our neighbourhood but they should be mindful that there are residents resting in the daytime also, and hopefully they do clear up before the leave.

Regarding the delay in the closing of the lift doors, I think it is a safety feature, not forgetting that there are studio apts in our blocks. I do see them doing maintenance on the lift and the sand contractors certainly does not help things when they move sand up to the the renovating units and the sand gets in btw the gaps of the lift and onto the lift mechanism.

The cleaning standard can definitely be improved but the residents should also play a part. Many a times, I see items being left at the common refuse bin area. I think it is not too much effort to bring it downstairs. Pardon me from saying this but Blk 89 seems to be in pretty bad shape. My mum visted us last weekend and ask why Blk 89 seems more dirty. The rooftop garden is also subjected to a lot of vandalism. One door from the MSCP to the garden is already damaged. Will take some pics and send to TC.

Anyway, we should continue to feedback to TC to really keep them on their toes.

My wife was being "followed" by a guy last nite. On her way back home she saw this guy walking away from blk 91 but he made a U-turn back to blk 91 when he saw my wife. My wife then went to open the letterbox. it was about 1030pm at nite so logically there shd be at least one lift standby at 1st floor. but the wierd thing is that the lift just arrive in time when my wife was walking towards the lift lobby after opening the letterbox. then my wife walked into the lift first and the guy followed into the lift too(my wife shd have walked out of the lift and take the next lift). And upon entering the lift, he actually waited for my wife to press the level. And guess wat.... he's also going to the same floor as my wife. when the lift door open at the destinated floor he walked out of the lift first and made a right turn. my wife made a left turn and stop at the corridor near the lift to see where he's going. then that guy turn right and stop at the first unit after making the right turn and u-turn back to the lift and took the lift down. Seems like he's trying to see which unit my wife is actually staying at. This guy muz be up to no good but perhaps has no guts or opportunity to strike. Else who in the world will take a lift up only to take the same lift down from where he came from. unless he's nuts or trying to commit crimes.

Not very good at describing so try to comprehend wat i'm trying to say.

Here is the description of that guy.

Chinese male ard mid-twenties, thin and slightly tanned. Wearing a long sports bottom and carries a badminton racket with a bag.

Let's keep a look-out for this guy to prevent crimes from happening. Shall escort my wife next time she comes home after me.

So everyone be VERY CAREFUL k?

My wife then went to open the letterbox. it was about 10pm at nite so logically there shd be at least one lift standby at 1st floor. but the wierd thing is that the lift just arrive in time when my wife was walking towards the lift lobby after opening the letterbox. thus my wife took the lift together with this guy. he actually waited for my wife to press the level. And guess wat.... he's also going to the same floor as my wife. then he walked out of the lift with my wife but turned left while my wife turn right when the lift door open. then my wife turned and look where he's going but then that guy again made a u-turn back into the lift and took the lift down.

Hopefully it is just a case of going to the wrong block/wrong floor. Anyway, better be safe than sorry. Thanks for alerting!

I came back at ard that time too. Did not see the person you described. I took the bigger lift and the lobby was quiet then. I think its time to look around, esp ladies when coming home late. Wise not to take lift alone with someone looking suspicious, esp the higher floors, many things can happen thru the lift ride. Let the guy go up first and wait for the next lift. Wont waste a lot of time.

Will inform my wife too. Thanks.

From what I learnt previously, there's alot of ways to prevent/avoid a hostile situation with suspicious people:

1. If its too late to get out of the lift, quickly press the next level to get out.

2. If the guy is going to the same level as you, then press a different LOWER level and get out.

3. For those suspicious people who do not make any moves, he is probably scared. To prevent them from gathering up their courage, turn around and face them directly, look at them in the eyes and firmly ask for something inconspicious, eg ask for the time, which floor, etc. This will confuse and make them incoherent.

1st and 2nd point ok. but the 3rd one is a bit inappropriate. becoz they might feel pressured etc. then who knows wat might happen next

Agreed with Armani. Point 1 & 2 are ok, pt 3 may induce him to take actions. Maybe the lifts shd design in such a way that the doors are reflective, i.e. the ppl standing in front can see what the guys behind are doing. Safer? How abt installing CCTV in lifts, beneficial for both the elders and ladies.

Wow, this is indeed very suspicious. May I advise that you go to the NPP when you are available and make a report on it.

Agree that someone should make a report at NPP before something really happens. At least it will keep the police on their toes and patrol the area more often at night.

I've been going back everyday for the past week due to my home reno. Notice that there's this group of 3 or 4 young Malay guys loitering at the void deck of Blk 91 on certain nites. Not too sure if they are residents there. Hopefully not drug addicts or anything like that.
