All Tanglin Halt Road Neighbours! Report In Here!

Recommended Posts

thanks zirkh, i'm using storage heater cos i don't like the idea of a very flammable item at home. (i'm super paranoid after watching Final Destination) Hahaha!!

JS21, not sure if you already have gotten the gas heater but just wanna share that for storage heater problem u encountered, it could be more of a case whereby the storage tank is not big enough. Mine's 30l though only 2 of us staying now. We are afraid of increase in head count yrs after. The other day my hubby used, it took 10 min to heat up. And he took a long shower while i was using hot water for cleaning of toilet. Quite ok. He had 100% hot water. The next day day (after 20 hours) he went back to clean up the house, & then took a shower, the water was still hot though it had been switched off so long ago. i was quite impressed leh.. but dunno if it's because it's still new lar.. Haha!

On the issue of heater, those who are using electric storage heater, did you have your gas pipes removed?

Oh no, I missed the Sitex promotion for the Panasonic Plasma TV! Is there a way to get back the same promo???? :dribble: I wanna cancel my buy from Goh Ah Bee, they haven't delivered.

Sigh! My Serta mattress buy is my first rash buy, now getting confused. Went to check the IMM outlet, doesn't have my model. Seems like their models are not standardised, different places sellings models with different names.

I'm still having the fridge headache. Which fridge can I buy that is around 70cm width, not more than 180cm height, that is white or stainless steel colour??? We asked the contractor to leave too big a gap, I want to get fridge that happens to be 60cm width only, but gap is too big!! What can I do with the big gap???

My aircon also got problem. Today they did the trunking the aircon man said my Mit non-invertor air-con cannot go through the window, asked us to change aircon model. Now I don't know whether to take Daikin non-invertor or switch to Mit invertor.

Hate this reno!:thumbs up::D

I think you dont buy exact size for the fridge.. it's alright with the gaps, the fridge need some space to breathe.

I was taking the Mit system 4 non-invertor, that's why cannot go through the window. Yesterday I went down to the aircon shop and ask my salesman to calculate the "savings" I can get if I can switch to Mit invertor, we calculated based on 12 hours every night for one room. Can save $30 a month, so can breakeven in 3 years. quite worth it, if hypothesis is right.

But I feel that our Tanglin Halt area is quite windy, so I might not even on the aircon as often as my current place. How about the rest of you? Do you still on the aircon every night despite the windy conditions? I'm tempted to live in my unit for one week before deciding if I really need an invertor aircon.

As for my fridge space, we asked the contractor to leave a 80cm gap. It is too big a gap for a 60cm fridge. At that time, we didn't want too small a gap in case we upgrade to a bigger fridge in the future. Argh, I thought of doing some tiny shelving, but it's too wierd. So now I'm trying to find a big enough fridge to make the gap less obvious. :dunno:

Now, I'm still hoping very much to get back the Sitex promotion. Crap, why didn't I pay attention to it in the first place??? :bleah:

I think they can always use the kitchen window to transport instead of the smaller window. Thus, have not heard of the unit cannot go through the window.

Can they really slide the compressor across from the kitchen window to aircon ledge? My husband did suggest that yesterday, but the aircon man was reluctant, saying the compressor weights 80kg! And he mentioned that the aircon ledge might still be too small for that compressor. :dunno: He kept singing praises for the Mit invertor version. hmm...

if it's only 1 compressor, definately can fit. I have seen 2 compressors fit also. I think he just want you to upgrade to Invertor.
