KDK fans (Malaysia) VS KDK fans (Singapore)

1) Half the price in Malaysia vs Singapore

2) Have to get a fan installer or DIY: The fans come with a U shaped bracket that has to be attached to concrete ceiling so involves drilling. Wiring is similar to any lighting point for those that use remote controls.

3) GST allowance is the same as any traveller entering singapore; GST payable = (Equivalent price in SGD-GST allowance per person)x7% . For example the T60AW lists for SGD620 . The similar model in Malaysia K15Z5-QEY costs SGD260. Your gst allowance for travel out of Singapore for less than 48 hours is SGD150 per person and SGD600 if more than 48 hours. So your GST liability will be minimal.

KDK Singapore will only give you a 12 month warranty. These things last a long time and are unlikely to fail in such a short time, so even if they do fail, the technicians will most likely recommend a replacement.

Only drawback are the colors available in Malaysia are all grey or dark grey. But Panasonic fans are identical (KDK is owned by Panasonic by the way) and come in lighter colors but cost RM100 more. (Don't know why; must be a marketing thing).

Cheers.

It's much cheaper to get from JB even with GST. Installation wise not much of an issue.  Just remember if you getting for your HDB BTO ask for the shorter stem else it will be too low. Hope this help.
