MewHome 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2016 Hi all, i would like to seek your opinion on this: i have opted to create an open kitchen by hacking away the wall between the kitchen and living room. However, i am concerned about the fumes and smell that will result from cooking (light cooking though). May i know if anyone has any experience with regards to this, i.e. will the smell affect the whole of the living room as well? Thanks!!
JohnHomeStylist 2 Report post Posted July 4, 2016 Yes, there is a solution of this problem. Just fix a chimney over your cooking station. Efficient chimneys are capable of soaking fumes and smell. An electric chimney sucks the air inside the kitchen. The air then passes through the filters which absorbs the heat and traps the grease particles thereby removing fumes and odor and ventilates your kitchen keeping it fresh and odor free. There are different types of chimneys.
amozlim 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2016 Same issue I'd be facing with my home, but I was thinking of having the service yard converted into a wet kitchen where I can do most of my frying and the like? Not sure if this is allowed in HDBs but I have seen some pictures online of the such.
