Corrosion on Bathtub

Recommended Posts

I live in a 8 year old apartment. The bathtub in the master bedroom started to show signs of corrosion. Some spots are lighter brown and some are dark brown and I suspect it corroded through.

Can anyone give me advice what should I do?  Has anyone got the same problems?

Please help and thank you for replying.

Hello

2 years ago I had similar problems like you. I did consider changing out the bathtub since the corrosion was bad and water was sipping thru the tub. Initially I was thinking to renovate the toilet and change it to a shower screen.

After I go quotations, I  needed to spend about $2.5K which is very expensive and the job will take about a week and I have to live with dust and dirt in the master bed room. With a new shower screen I may also need to do extra water proofing if I needed to hack the existing tiles…..so may issues.

My friend recommended a guy to me and I decided to get the bathtub replied. The guy came and got my tub repaired and I saved thousands and did not have to put up with the mess and dust. I paid him about $350 for the job.

Hello Atan1963

Thank you for your reply this is exactly what happened to my bathtub.

You did not include a contact, can you kindly provide me the contact of this person who can refurbish my bath tub. I really do not not want the holes to get bigger until it is not repairable.

Thankyou
