[Advice needed] bought resale flat, HIP announced - should I reno?

Hi all,

just completed resale procedure for my 3room hdb and collected the keys. Am looking to do overhaul full reno as the unit is bare and original condition. 

logged in to hdb website and noticed that my blk has been announced for Home improvement programme (HIP) on 57 Aug 2015. Status still under "announced for HIP"

anybody know how long roughly to the polling and the works usually? Should I hold off my reno until the full HIP is complete?

I can see that the waste pipes are the old metal type so sure kenah change ... am concern if the works will damage the tiles if i already do up full reno.

any one has any experience care to advise?

From what i know, usually the polling starts around 2 years later after the announcement. 

You can check the town councll newsletter , or  call up the HDB branch office to see when is the poll.
