VeryDulan 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 First time handling renovation on my own, need some help to clarify some details as follows; 1. Do i need to get electrician to standby the open wirings to all the downlight points before i get the L-box installer to come in? What should the sequence be? 2. Do i engage electrician to open hole in the L-box to install the downlights for me? Otherwise what kind of contractor do i need to engage? 3. Do downlights come in different sizes? Do i have to buy the downlights and take the dimensions first before calling in the electrician and the ceiling contractors?
kangeroo168 10 Report post Posted April 27, 2016 normally it goes like this: lay wiring first... the light points will have wire dangling down lay L box/false ceiling. electrician will open the holes. best is u brought along the actual lights so that the electrician can do its own measurement

skb 2 Report post Posted May 3, 2016 You will also need to plan for the switch. Does 1 switch turns on all light or different switch turns on different (section) lights. And do you need 2 way switch etc. Where will the electrician tap the electricity, will it overload... The electrician should plan for you but still good to know. Just sharing as I am also in the midst of finding contractor to do L Box and Cove light.
