lynzi 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Updates on my reno.Yesterday nite id called and said our ceiling works (the l-box and false ceiling) and our feature wall will be ready by this week. So we have to start painting before he install the lights. OH NO!! Suddnely we are rushed for time and have to paint by next Tuesday. Pored over the ICI book last nite and decided to paint all the ceilings, hall, balcony and service balcony first. The rooms we will paint at a later time.Hubby called my dad, my FIL and BIL to help this weekend. Me will just be the sup as I'm incapable of climbing nor strenous work...hahaha! Homeowner 1 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Better not for you to be there, Lynzi...some paints have fumes which maybe unhealthy for the baby.
lynzi 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 Oh dear! Is it? Wasn't aware of it. Thought all paints now are safe.
Homeowner 1 Report post Posted April 19, 2007 Think the Nippon Odourless 3 in 1 is supposed to be safe, but I'm pretty risk averse and would prefer not to risk it. Just one or two days...take a break and relax!
lynzi 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Last weekend hubby painted our house. Me stayed at home and didn't even show my face there. Lucky I did not go. They were painting the sealer first so had to add turpentine. From what I heard, the smell was rather overwhelming.Today's my bday! Received flowers at work from my hubby. Going off sch earlier today to have high tea at Carousel...yea!

Homeowner 1 Report post Posted April 24, 2007 Heheh...really exciting when you see the little blob on the screen. Blob grows bigger... !!
lynzi 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2007 Scanned my tummy yesterday. Wow, so fascinating. Its 1.8cm now. Something so small can grow so big. Can see its heartbeat. Seen the house. They have patched up the holes in the walls. Previous owner liked to nail frames to the walls. Some corners have also been plastered. Used to be uneven and chipped off at some parts. Me and hubby will most probably be getting our curtains in JB. My MIL said its cheaper there as she's used to buying her curtains in JB.
lynzi 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2007 Me and hubby went to lifestyle 21 at expo last saturday. We ended up buying our water feature there. We had it customised and still got it at the promotional price of $450....haha All inclusive of delivery and installation, lights and 4 plants. The size is ideal for our small squarish balcony. We have yet to confirm when it is to be delivered. Maybe after all the dust has been cleared.
lynzi 0 Report post Posted May 8, 2007 My kitchen cabinet was finally installed yesterday. Phew...wat a long wait.My tv console and the steel strips for the feature wall were also done yesterday. However, after installing the console me and hubby just realised that grey colour that we have chosen does not match my glossy black console. Yikes! :notti: We have to get a darker shade of grey. So...this weekend hubby and the fathers need to repaint the whole wall white again before applying the dark grey. Double work!!
