Can Bathroom Water Pipes Be Concealed In Resale Flat?

Recommended Posts

For old (more than 20 years) resale flat, can bathroom hot and cold water pipes be concealed? A rain shower looks so nice but isn't it a waste to see the hot and cold water pipes, prefer pipes to be hidden.

Some ID I met say can conceal by building something and others say cannot because of HDB rules.

For those say can, is it they do it against HDB rules? Or should I say that they bend the rules?

For those say cannot, explained that only new flats or newly-resale flats can be concealed.

Confused. Who is correct and who is not so correct. Pl enlighten. Thanks!

From what I understood, HDB does not allow the pipes to be conceal.

For those IDs who said 'yes', I think what they meant to build a 'fake wall' to conceal them. The fake wall need not be a real wall but just a splash screen mounted on the real wall. You can clarify further with them.

Thanks for explanation. Perhaps I didn't use the correct word, should not use 'conceal'. More exact would be to ask if can build or do something to hide the pipes ... that is still within HDB's rules.
