Kitchen Counter Depth

help pls.

i think i have been cheated. my kitchen counter top depth is only 17.5 inches or 58cm. Wen i stand at the stove, my head hits the hood and i cant imagine how i m going to be cooking in future.

can someone share with their counter top measurement here pls.

also there is no space between the cooking stove and the back wall. i remember having a space in my previous house..

Depth of my counter top is 23.5" (wall to front edge) but depth of my hob is 20.5".

I have 1" space at the front & 2" space at the wall.

But still, my head hit the hood when I stand at the stove. 2 reason:

1) because I am tall

2) if it's mounted too high, it would be too far to suck the fumes effectively

I have go through with an article about the standard size of the kitchen cabinet. For sure, there is a standard measurement for it.
