Ceiling Fan Speed Control Functions

All,

I have reno strating in 2 weeks time and on my recent work trip to India, I managed to pick up 2 Ceiling Fans, which I found to be very nice looking and appropriate size for my living and dining areas. The voltage range is the same as Singapore and the fans can be seen at the link below:

The Fans do not come with a remote but I wish to have speed control functionality.

- What are my options here ? Would connecting them to normal dimmer switch be enough or do I need a regulator ?

- Would dimmer switch cause any noise ?

- If regulator, can I buy a suitable regulator locally ? If yes, kindly recommend some please.

- Wiring wise, I am converting an existing lighting point to a celing fan point. So if using a regulator, does it require any additional wiring because of the regulator ? One ID has told me that but I don't quite trust that guy in general.
