Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

I get my quotes from my ID Mitisubshi starmax system 4 $4000 + $150 bracket - 9 X BTU for 3 rooms 1 X 28BTU for hall it is a good price any advise.

Best is to shop around a little and do some comparison. Also can consider 2 x System 2 if baracket is sufficient.

System 4 is unable to sustain 4 units working at the same time. Can split 2 rooms 1 compressor and 1 room + living room 1 compressors.

If room facing west sun and/or liek aircon to be cold, 12k for room is also fine.

I did 2 blower in living room alone, due to elongated space.

From experience, I find aircon contractors usually "up-selling" the products. Although in theory their calculations may be correct, I find that they always push much higher BTU units than I really need. So far when I downsize, I find the units suitable.

For tarzanboy, I am not sure how big is the hall. But if the rooms are 9,000 BTU, I am sure 12,000 or at most 18,000 BTU will be more than enough for the hall.

For nextstep, looking at his floor plan, I would take 9,000 BTU as well for the MSR and 12,000 BTU or 18,000 if the aircon is intended also to serve the kitchen/dining area.

Reason for the MBR I use 12K is also I extended my MBR so will need higher BTU to make sure all area are cool enough.

but again finger cross

If you are the type who like it cold, you can even consider to go for a 18k BTU especially when you are combining 2 rooms.

Yes, bigger BTU consumes more electricity but I think is still lesser than compressor always kicking in to maintain preset temperature.

Went down to Home & Deco Fair yesterday, and got myself this small bag of Lamitak sample,

Find it very nice and handy, can really shortlist some sample before going to talk to my ID.

Shopping - Aircon

Since the reno work going to start on this coming Monday

so I went down to GainCity to buy aircon, end up I got a system 3 by Mitsubishi Starmex

Hope I make the right choice as I was told it come with 5 ticks, so finger cross.

Mean time there is a Home and Deco road show st Marina Square. If you want to take a look the actual Lamitak, there are there as well.

Checked out gain city before I went ahead with my ID crew as well but found gain city quotes on the higher side.

Managed to check and confirm all materials used are the same and with savings went with the other.

Got the same I guess but system 4 Mit Inverter.

Also actually the main deal is the btu of the compressor and found out that Mit electric is able to take 36k in total so with 3 sets of 9k Btu blower and a 18k for MBr it can't support all 4 or won't be cold.

But yet again not a really big AC user cept for haze periods like now :( and my kids are the only lucky ones sleeping in AC.

Learn my lesson, so will be more careful when going to buy my Kitchen item.

I am kinda high aircon user, but most of the time will be either the living or the master bed room will be using it.

Finally the reno starts, and lots of wall have to go.

Was informed by my ID, they go door to door and give out letters and inform my neighbours the reno will start this week.

Not too sure if you are adamant in Toto but I do find their WC a little costly. Even the most basic ones are like 800-900$ a piece.

Got the IXISS brand after reading some other Tbloggers comments and am very happy with what I've got so far and save lots of $$ too :)
