w7_lee 11 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 Balcony is false ceiling or concrete? If concrete, is there an electrical termination point for you to install balcony light? If false ceiling, do you know if there is a termination point above? This is just to know if you really need to extend the cable. sherwinsm 1 Report post Posted June 23, 2015 there is a power point in the ceiling.my dilemma is how to extend the short steel pole or extend the chains instead... if extend the chains only. im afraid it will sway like crazy. if extend the steel pole. i dont know where to get that. w7_lee 11 Report post Posted June 27, 2015 I would extend the pole and shorten the chain.
tantc 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2015 hi,I think if you remove that metal cap, you would probably see the electric terminator.Make sure your unit's main power supply is off before you remove it. Better safe than sorry.I think extending the rod would be tough because you gotta hunt for a new rod and that's not easy. It's easier to run a chain down . That means, the Y connection that your current 2 chains are, will be shifted down.I wouldn't suggest just running a cable down without a chain and just let that cable bear all the weight. A chain is stronger and can be more flexible during windy situation.cheersTeck Chye
