strawberrycakecream 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2015 Hi all!Just starting on my own reno blog, seriously its a long process to plan/shop/decorate a house, whom to engage as my contractor/ID...aircon types, TV..console.. fridge...tabletop...dining table..movers and where to buy etc...... HDB defects -found hairline cracks in almost all our rooms and even our service balcony....you should check your exterior windows too, so many gaps and holes found (these may affect in future because when it rains...water seepage would be a problem- better to ask them plaster again thoroughly and save yourself the heartache) -the plastic stoppers behind my common room toilet door and bomb shelter door were changed, one was green n looks mouldy..the other one was damaged. - external toilet windows were not properly plastered... gaps and holes all round got them to rectify -tested all the toilets flushing and toilet floor drainage (ok) -damaged tile with chip off found --replaced thankfully no misaligned windows/doors, overall minimum defects that were done in 3weeks...they are really slow, better to chase them to do faster. DoorBellThe doorbell wires are located above the kitchen entrance hard to find a suitable doorbell...went to stores and cant find...at last get from --http://www.doorbellsg.com/product/ My husband meddled with it for quite some time before it finally worked...hdb shld just include one doorbell ...save the hassle for everybody. i managed to take some time off work that coincide with my husband to pack/unpack and clean the house old/new (even his 2 sisters came over to help pack/unpack our stuff at old and new house! Thankful that they helped or else i don't think we can shift in such a short time, didn't know we could accumulate so much stuff.... Blk 527C our new home! I will add photos next time heheh, shifted in on 8th May 2015 but till today it is still pretty messy... The contractor that we engaged is great as well as those he employs(actually my husband saw someone recommend in renotalk and decide to give it a try-no regrets), aircon installation we engage another person, this particular guy rectified our leaking aircon problem at our old house and we decide to engage him for our new house. Our house reno is minimum, tiles/doors/toilet basic sinks are included when we bought the house! Mostly my house items are bought on taobao/qoo10 buys, there's more variety and more designs than in local shops and cheaper i guess! adding more stuff in next post.
