Recommended Posts

Hi duomaxwell

1. May I know how mch your ID charged you per feet of the 3 tracks sliding door wardrobe (including the mirror and colour PVC)

2. What is the hardware you used for the TV console sliding door? Excel or blum hardware? Any part no.

Thanks

Do you have to top up for this paint? Usually is Vinilex 5000 right?

Hi evangel,

Nope. we don't have to top up for Odour-less easy wash. Our ID does not limit us on the selection of paint types, that's why we purposely chose the most expensive series.

Yup, you are right, usually I think others are only being offered Vinilex 5000, need to top up if using other range of paints if I am not wrong :P

Hi Lazyfatcat, thanks for dropping. I'm sorry to hear that. guess the ID really "stepped" onto you big time. But at least he willing to redo the cabinets.

Day 15 (11th Jan 2016) (Painting)

Painter brought all the materials to prepare for the painting of the whole house.

90redi.jpg

Realised that not all the paint cans are Odour Less Easy Wash (some are Vinilex 500, some are just easy wash or Odour-less, ID immediately called the painter and requested him to change. "thumbs up to the ID"

Wrong Paint type

Correct Paint Type

I count ourselves lucky that we fixed an appointment with the glass contractor to discuss on the approach for the master bedroom toilet (whether to install a sliding glass door or a normal glass door for shower area) today before the painter starts work, if not the painter would have started painting with the wrong paint type.

Painting will continue tomorrow (12th Jan) and on Wednesday (13th Jan).

Do you have to top up for this paint? Usually is Vinilex 5000 right?

Hi Dunomaxwell,

Notice your wardrobes are using sliding doors,  could comment how good it is? Comparing with ikea kind?? Am thinking of sliding doors but don't know the reliability if done by contractors? Anything you lookout for? Thanks

Raymond

Hi Raymond,

Because our sliding doors are made of solid-ply wood instead of ikea's chipboard. The sliding doors feels heavier and more sturdy. :P

See whether it is possible to drop by any of your short-listed contractor's customer's house to try out their sliding doors to see their quality.

Due to the size of BTO bedrooms, it was more practical for us to do sliding doors instead of fitted wardrobe doors.

Some things we looked out for when doing our wardrobe

1) is the brand of laminates which they are using. Preferred to be "branded" so the laminates can be more lasting.

2) having "AA" track for our wardrobe shelvings so we can adjust the height of the shelvings to accommodate our possible future needs

3) any limitation to the number of drawers for wardrobe

Two of our bedroom wardrobe has 3 tracks, the 3rd track is for the full height mirror. :)

Hi melmeow,

PM sent for ID contact and cost. :)

Thanks. Below is another practical idea by our ID for our living room TV console :D

All TV console "doors" closed

All TV console doors "open" by opening the "doors" and sliding it in
