Hunt For Id And Our Journey To A Cosy Home

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, my mrs and I are looking around for ID to do up my home. Saw some design from a few ID, and wonder if anyone of you can share your experience about these few that we were thinking to check out:

1) Meter Square

2) Dyel Design

3) Living Gaia

4) Wee Studios

5) The Upper Room Design

We intend to look at 5 to 10 IDs to understand the market before committing as I have read this forum that advised to talk to more IDs.

Q2) Is it important to look for contractors/ID that are RADAC and HDB accredited? Any other I need to look out for?

Q3) There's a quotation service here in renotalk - how does it work, and are they reliable? I suppose they paid for it?

I'll share my process to the selection and the and journey to the reno here as well... please feel free to give your valuable tips :)

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Furious,

Not sure if you have a Q1... Anyway, it is advised to talk to various IDs and get quotations to get a rough estimate of the pricing, and to find an ID that seems to suit your needs. Helping to understand more will reduce the chances of you being conned. As much as we hope this don't happen, in reality a lot of people would do anything for money...

Q2 - accredited contractors/IDs tend to be more reliable, but do not mean that it is essential. There may also be some companies that while not accredited, but does a good job nonetheless. For example:

The above seems to be quite a popular ID, but as they said, they are not HDB enlisted as they need to be established for a year before they can apply. However, they seem to get pretty good reviews. (I have not engaged them personally though)

3) I am not sure about renotalk services, but there are various sites that do offer quotation services. They are probably paid for it, but it can help you get some quotations for comparison, and probably help you to get a good contractor to perform your task?

You can give them a try or just get quotations out of them. More information usually tend to come in handy eventually.
