Journey To Our New Home

In this post, i would like to share my renovation for my new home. Since there is a maximum no. of pictures allowed to post, u may click the link for reference . At the same time, i would like to share the experience i had with my id. Not promoting or advertising, just sharing good stuff with you guys.

Just like the rest of new owners, me and hubby, we were excited when we got our keys. Got the keys on Jan, appeal to HDB for the cement screeding. HDB got it done on around late march and renovation starts early this month. I will not touch on how many quotations i have received and the different types of id i went to. I will just summarised, we selected Mr. R as our id.

I did my research, went around and requesting quotations. I received quite alot of quotation but i'm still skeptical in making the decision. A friend recommended me their id and i contacted him and decide to meet up. When i first met Mr. R, i knew somehow he will be the one who will be doing our house. Reason being, felt very comfortable with him, he is very straightforward, very patient instead of like some ids all they care about is signing the contract with them. But for Mr. R, he is very patient, he explained in details the quotation, giving suggestion and advise on the dos and donts. He pays close attention to what i want, going through the materials slowly with me and hubby and all this are done way before i decide to sign the contract with him.

One more thing i salute about him, his level of tolerance and patience is really really high. Why i say so, mr hubby was very fickle and kept changing his mind on certain things each time. Mr. R listens and pay attention to him and also patiently update the quotation each time a change has been made. Me and hubby had a budget to meet, and Mr. R gave a reasonable quotation and it's within the budget.

Lets cut it short, i chosed Mr. R as my ID. Renovation works started early April and will let the pictures do its talking. The theme chosen was scandinavian theme but prolly there is a little bit of industrial added to the theme. Ideas i got basically are from renotalk and google. Anyways, most of my household loots such as furnitures, bathroom accessories, i got it from taobao. Will share the taobao purchase on another post. The renovation now is 80% complete, pretty fast huh. Prolly because i don't do much of renovation.

First thing done, Mr. Electrician went down to settle the wirings before installing the lightings and fans. Construction of the kitchen cabinet kerb and 2 bathroom shower kerb.

Next up, brick wall panel.

Next, first round of painting. Final touch up will be after everything is completed. Colours selected continental blue, ash grey, smoke pearl and tiffany.

After painting is done, the aircon guy came to do the trunking.

Our carpentry came but work is not completed. They will come down to do finalised everything.

For kitchen countertop, initially me and hubby chosed iquartz, igalaxy but change of plan, we got kompacplus 10:30 instead.

My favourite part. Our lightings that we bought from tampoi and taobao is up. Bathroom accessories is half way up. For ceiling fan we chosed relite for living and fanco for bedrooms. Bought relite fan from universal union while fanco from tampoi in JB.

But we finalised to stromboli for living room and whitehouse for bedrooms.

i guess thats for all now. Will update photos of the house once complete. Got mostly 90% of the household furniture, bathroom accessories, lightings from taobao and also tampoi lighting in JB. Will post a new thread on my taobao and JB purchased

I realised everyone seems to have brick walls or the industrial theme nowadays.. although I must say I do like the walls and the lightings..
