Hacking Question

Hi guys,

is it a norm that the rubbish chute to replace when replacing tiles?

I am asking cause my contractor keep telling me that my rubbish chute that replaced by prev owner few months ago only need to replace.

Please advice your view. Thanks

another question is that.

1. contractor keep saying hacking kitchen if i decide to overlay my saving is only $600.

if i decided to hack only few walls he will only minus off $200 .

The quotation items as below

Designer wall tiles ( 300 x 450 )mm for kitchen - exposed parts $ 2,280.00

Hack floor and wall tiles for kitchen $ 650.00

Heavy duty flooring tiles for kitchen and 2 bathrooms ( 300 x 300 )mm $ 1,880.00

My kitchen size is est 177sqft ,
