What Is The Difference Of Water Heater Plastic Hose Vs A Metal Hose?

For the instant water heater hose (hose connect to shower head), what is the difference of using a plastic hose vs a metal hose?

The hose size diameter seems same and they seems like supply same amount of water and water pressure, correct?

Metal one seems like only a additional covering outside of the plastic hose, metal part easily spoil near the head.

I heard that it is not good when plastic is heated, wondering if the warm water from heater will heat up the plastic hose is it ok or not.

I use a metal flex hose with my Ariston instant heater and it's been great! 5 years now and both the heater and hose are still going strong. I was concerned about the plastic + hot water too, and I think metal is safer plus seems more durable.
