Junlong 2 Report post Posted January 17, 2015 Hi All, As this is my first post I would be honest with you all that I am actually an Interior Designer. Therefore I am actually taking this chance to share with you some of my renovation progress and insights for one of the project @Fernvale GardenLayout plan:As you can see the layout of this unit has a spacious living area but a relatively small dining space, so after much discussion we to have a bar counter table that actually extends into the kitchen area. To keep everything neater, we also proposed the TV console with display cabinet and shoe cabinet along one side of the living area wall.Concept Mood References:That all for now, stay tuned for my next post as I will sharing of the design proposal for the cabinet itself. Thanks for reading. Jun

Junlong 2 Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Yes Billy, some of the reference photos are from a Taiwanese ID (Parti Design Studio). I have been studying a lot of Taiwanese interior design projects and find it quite relevant in the context to our current housing in Singapore too, be it from unit size to material selection as well. Btw El LoCo, I am Singaporean.

Junlong 2 Report post Posted January 19, 2015 Hi all,Here are some of the design proposal for the living area and kitchen.Living area:The idea of initially was create an multi purpose cabinet that consist of a low TV console, display area, shoe cabinet and seating bench. We have also added in a full height box up wall near the window side as to help in concealing the necessary cabling works. The back wall was planned for a concrete look alike wallpaper initially, but due to budget constrain, we decide to go for a light grey paint instead. Dining area:As the dining area is quite small, after much discussion my clients decided to have a bar counter instead.Kitchen:Simple low height counter with Quartz top and a tall unit to house in the fridge. On the left side of the fridge we also include 2 pull out dry cabinet. Thanks for reading.

Junlong 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2015 Hi...U r using a Quartz top but how u koe wat u getting is quartz and not granite or solid surfae??thanks a lot Hi simple13, For this project I am using Quartz countertop. If you want to know the difference between quartz/granite and solid surface, you can look for the joint seams. Solid surface will not have joint seams between the countertop and the backsplash, but for quartz and granite they are always separate pieces. To differentiate quartz and granite, I think you can see the reflection on the surface. Normally for quartz counter only the little quartz stone reflect the light thus the overall reflection is not as sharp compare to a polish granite top. Hope it helps. Thanks.
