Damocles 2 Report post Posted December 13, 2014 Hi,I bought an second hand apartment recently.I wanted to repaint the whole unit. However, I found that the kitchen is very oily since the previous owner did not use a cookerhood in the kitchen. Is it necessary to clean off the oily mess before painting. If so, how can I do it?Thank you.Regards,
Humphrey 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2014 Hi, You may try using the kitchen cleaning detergents to wipe down the walls before painting commencement.Alternatively, you can engage a painter to do the cleaning before painting and/ or apply a coat of sealant to allow the paint to adhere to the kitchen wall properly. On another note, usually the kitchens have tiled walls from ceiling down, so maybe you want to lay tiles or glass to the wall for easy maintenance going forward?I can be reached at 92999451 if you need further clarifications.Hope this helps.
