Poh10 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2014 I tried to open the square down light cover to change a bulb but discovered that the cover is partly silicone glued to the false ceiling. I had to use a screw driver to try and force open the cover and to my dismay it became loose and dropped down slightly. How do i fixed it back. How are these light boxes usually secured to the false ceiling?Your advise is deeply appreciated. Thank you.
bepgof 20 Report post Posted January 4, 2015 Down lights are just supported by 2 spring jaws on false celing.By right, pull the assembly downward will do. The jaws flip upward when pulling down. While putting back, flip the jaws down, insert in whole assembly into the lighting hole. The jaws should 'open' and support the assembly from dropping down...You case - believed jaws have been damaged by initial installer..., so to fix back can apply - monkey see monkey do approach.
