Electrical Works - Overpriced? 3Rm Bto

Hi guys,

Ours is a 3rm standard bto & we requested for ceiling works to be done. Our Id had quoted us $2200 for false ceiling with cove lighting for living & passageway.

The concept is just a triangle design joined to the beam where we placed our aircon for the living area. It’s not very complex to be done unlike what our ID claims it is.

On top of this, there is some electrical works to be done.

Below is this list of items:

Kitchen>

Supply labour to running wire for hood point $120 - 1no

Supply labour to do 3 Gang switch. $60.00 - 1no

Service yard>

Double power point (2x13AMP) $65.00 - 1no

Living /Dining/ passageway>

Supply labour to run 6 lighting points for ceiling down light. ($45) x 6 nos = $ 270.00

Supply labour to hack and touch up (Conseal) all ceiling lighting point $ 180.00 - 1no

Supply labours to run conceal hanging lighting point. $ 45.00 - 1no

Supply labour to Install 6 down lights. ($10) x6 nos - $ 60.00

Supply labour to install 1 hanging light. (for dining) $ 100.00 - 1no (It’s just to hang the lighting since already charged $45 to run lighting pt)

Double power point (2x13AMP) $ 65.00 - 1no

Supply labour to install LED Strip for ceiling and installation of transformer for cove lighting – 17metres. ($120) x 4nos = $ 480.00

Supply labour to install LED Strip for TV console and installation of transformer – 1.6 metres. $120 - 1no

(For the LED strip, we have to do the soldering & cutting of strips, its not by the installer)

Double power point (2x13AMP) $ 65.00 - 1no

Supply labour to hack and touch up (Conseal) and change switch gang $120 - 1no

Total: $1750 - $250 (goodwill discount) = $1500

Can someone enlighten me if this is too costly as I feel its over priced.

All lightings are provided by us for installation.
