kafka 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 Wondering if it's possible for $20K budget:1. Hack existing ceramic flooring in the living room and dining area and laminate flooring in 3 bedrooms & replace them all with homogeneous floor tiles with dark wood skirting.2. Hack existing floor tiles in both master & common bathrooms, sliding doors, W.C. Bowls and wash basins & replace flooring with non-slip homogeneous floor tiles with 10mm clear tempered glass shower screen (either fixed/with swing doors) and replace with new W.C. bowls with bidet spray & wash basins and cover pipes. A new bifolding door for Master Bathroom. Basically a clean new design for both bathrooms.3. Painting works for whole unit except kitchen.4. Hack existing wardrobe & replace with new built-in wardrobe (full height) for Master Bedroom.5. A new design with some built-in tables and shelves for study room in the smallest bedroom. No electrical or kitchen works. Just flooring, carpentry and wet works for bathrooms. Can consider smooth ceramic flooring for 3 bedrooms instead of homogeneous floor tiles coz really don't like laminate flooring Any ideas or comments if this is possible or if the budget is too tight? ifatfat 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 I think it might be a little tight.... Bathrooms each will set you back about 5k, so that's a total of 10k for 2 bathrooms. I was quoted nearly 5K for laminated flooring for living room + 3 bedrooms, tiles is going to set you back even more. Hacking is going to set you back another 3~4K... painting another 1K and 3 bedroom doors is about 100+ to 200+ each depending on what you go for. That's about 20K already... mummychua 4 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 it sounds more like a 50k job. if your budget is small, minimise hacking. overlaying toilet tiles instead of hacking. consider vinyl flooring, since you dont like laminate. cut off all carpentry work, other than kitchen cabinetconsider painting existing doors instead of changing.maybe can try painting on your own.even then 20k might still be tight to work with. freddyprince 0 Report post Posted August 4, 2014 Hi, I would think that 5k for each toilet is very expensive. Is this the price nowadays? Just now went to a contractor for quote at Yishun and happen to see their toilet package is like $5888 for 2 toilets floor and wall.
