Hi all,

I just recevied this quote from one of my shortlist capentry contractor.

Is the price reasonable?

For living room and 3 bedroom only

1. Design & fabricate settee in laminate finish with ABS trimmings & soft closer = $1500 (10.5 ft)

2. Design & fabricate TV feature wall in laminate finish (full height) = $1700 (12 ft) (No lighting / no design just full height laminate only)

3. Design & fabricate suspended TV console with ABS trimmings & soft closer = $950 (8 ft)

4. Design & fabricate wardrobe in laminate finish (full ht) = $1500 (5.5 ft)

5. Design & fabricate wardrobe in laminate finish (full ht) = $1500 (5.5 ft)

6. Design & fabricate wardrobe in laminate finish with alumium glass door & slow closer (full ht) = $2050 (6.5 ft)

Kitchen cabinet was quote $120 / ft with soft closer.

Option: Granite (MIC / India) @ $110/ft

iquartz @$120/ft

Lianhin quartz @$130/ft

Ok to proceed and sign?

I give u an example of calculation

item 2: 12ft of feature wall requires a min of 4 pieces of laminate. 4 piece of plywood. (8ftx4ft.)

so can calculate the costing. give it a max of $100/pc of laminate or plywood.

carpenter pricing are always 60-70% over the cost. BUT given the labour crunch, levies (each foreign worker $950)....

I guess u have got no choice to pay and bargain for a overall small discount.

hope this helps.

and BTW, soft closing hinges only cost a dollar a piece (each wardrobe door 3pc, top cabinet 2pc)...so don't be mislead on the pricing.

Thanks for all the pm. I still searching & open for more quotation.

Currently I'm searching EVORICH for flooring & looking for electrician on wiring.

Will just do the basic without any false ceiling.
