WC RESEARCH REPORT:

Since there is not much information available in Renotalk blog and forums on the choice of sanitary products - WCs and Toilets, available in the market, I decided to do a research. After spending few days of my time in going around and visiting various shops, I have compiled below some of my research in WC and toilet products (1 piece models only):

Thanks to this report, I got mine at GR Link Marketing! Save me a whole lot compared to other shops at Balestier.

Thanks to this report, I got mine at GR Link Marketing! Save me a whole lot compared to other shops at Balestier.

I too liked the GR Link marketing of all the shops I visited in Jalan Besar primarily because of the bright and neat layout; patient explaining on the products. But they are not the cheapest when I compared the prices they gave me with others. Royal Fanco was much cheaper.

Later when I visited Heritage Bathroom, my impression changed. When you compare like-to-like Heritage was cheaper and carried more varieties especially the basins.

For example, I intended to buy built-in oven from Lion City in Geylang Road; but the final price they offered was matched by Heritage. In fact, I need not bargain the price in Heritage; they already offered me the lowest. Similarly, I wanted to buy my Fujioh Hood and Hob from Hoe Kee, Tanjong Katong; but Heritage price was the same.

So I decided to save lot of headache & trips to shop different things from different shops, making visits again to all these shops, coordinating deliveries, payments etc. and decided to consolidate all the purchases with Heritage.

But I must say, all my visits to various shops helped me understand the products, features, and the best prices;

In the end, everybody sells the same products; it is the personal experience and comfort that matters; not to forget the $; if I were to save few $, why not?

MOVERS UPDATE & MOVING STUFF TO TEMPORARY STORAGE:

It has been few weeks since we moved all our stuff like furtniture, beds, dining table, fridge, washing machine etc., to a temporary storage till our renovation is completed.

We chose Storhub at Bukit Batok (just opp. Bukit Batok swimming pool) for our storing needs. They had a few options of space and the advisor there Ms. Jasmine helped us save some costs to choose the right size. Initially when I looked up the space calculator online, I was thinking I would need in excess of 100 Sq Ft of space to store all our stuff. But when we had a chat with Jasmine, she said 52 Sq. Ft of space would be sufficient. Thanks Jasmine for saving few $.

Then our movers was extremely zealous in their approach true to their name "ZEALOUS MOVERS". Very reasonable quote, extremely friendly, prompt in their timeliness and super efficient while moving. Their moving, heavy lifting and crunching into the small storage space by innovative planning was really excellent. They also gave us good discount if we use them for a) to store it in the storage and b) to move things to our new flat once reno is completed.

Uploading some shots of Zealous Team:

Woohoo.

Could not resist the temptation, so opened the brass colored dining lights I bought in India and took some pictures. I must say it is gorgeous :yeah:. The brass color looks more like gold color. I didn't expect it to turn into gold!!!. But my ID is loving it.

I totally agree with what you mentioned.

Heritage at Geylang has good service and the lowest price is always offered even to customers who just casually ask.

I bought about $3000 worth of stuff from them and still planning on buying another 2 sets of ceiling fans as I checked around Jalan Besar, Balesteir and etc....they are overall still a very good shop to go to.

I got served by the pretty girl, Yuki and so far she is very nice and steady, :D

Also completed LED lighting purchases in Singapore this week.

After comparing few shops including a warehouse cum retailer in Paya Lebar (recommended by another Renotalk friend), I decided to buy my LEDs from AVARIC Lightings at Syed Alwi Road. They are called VALUE4U PTE LTD. Their products stood out in quality - they use all "Samsung" chips and drivers are made in their own factory. Their service was excellent stood out when compared to the plethora of shops selling LEDs. And finally their prices are infact very competitive.

1. LED downlights

2. Toilet lights LED

3. T5 LED lights

4. LED strip lights for under cabinets in kitchen, living, study, master bedroom dresser.

I also bought some more lights from Design Lights @ 101, Kitchener Road, Jalan Besar Plaza. Very patient lady explained few technical stuff while choosing my track lights and ceiling lights. Again prices are very competitive.

5. Ceiling lights for Kitchen

6. Track lights for Kitchen

Cool, my purchases were over $5000!!!

You are right - they offer their best price for casual customers even if you are just enquiring and not buying. That's why I like them. It saves the trouble of haggling and breaking your head to find what's the lowest point.

And yes, Yuki and Irene are the bright stars in Heritage!!!

My Home theater layout with speaker positions:

Ceiling speakers are an after thought, because I upgraded my AV receiver to 7.1 at the last minute.

Thanks to my ID, he has agreed to lay 2 new cables for these ceiling cables by cutting open the ceiling again! Since he already completed the ceiling works, he now needs to cut the ceiling again to lay these cables. Poor fellow. He must be mad at me.

Below image captures the additional cable.
