Any Way To Waterproof Parquet Flooring?

Hi all..

We have just bought a new place and the bedrooms have pre-installed parquet flooring. These are in good condition and no reason to change.. Our only concern is that we have pets and we want to protect the flooring from accidents.

How should we waterproof our flooring?

Someone mentioned that we can get those mats (like carpet but waterproof) and lay over the flooring.. Any ideas what this might be?

i think if use mat or carpet to lay over than quite wasted for those parquet flooring which i think most people want to enjoy it..maybe got waterproof coating that can be pianted over the flooring?
