Top Mounting Of Stainless Steel Sink

I hope someone out there can share some kind advice with me.

Is it possible to top mount an undermount stainless steel sink? I assume since the material is only about 1-1.2mm thick, i should think that should not be a real problem. Toying with this idea..

However, I'm not sure whether it is possible to silicone 1mm thick SS sink onto the countertop. Any pro/con of doing so?
