Joeist 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2014 hi,anyone uses induction or ceramic hob? was advised that there might be a tendency of tripping the electricity if too many appliances were used at the same time...I stayed in an opposition party area so there's no city gas. (there's really a line drawn between PAP & opposition!) It's either LPG or via electric hob. I'm uncomfortable using LPG, like got risk of explosion (LOL) & also it's troublesome getting the guy to change as & when. Advice pls....thx Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
mummychua 4 Report post Posted May 21, 2014 ceramic uses 18amp power plug, which probably means that it take quite a bit of electricity. for blks that havent gotten their electricity up, it might cause a problem. and for ppl who cook often, it might not be a good choice since heating using electricity is always more expensive. plus ceramic cooker is more expensive than normal gas stove. another choice is induction, i suppose it will take less electricity compare to ceramic since the heating plate doesnt get really hot during cooking. but all your pots and pans will have to be in stainless steel. wont work for me so i nv consider it. another choice is to use a combination of gas and induction or ceramic and induction. anyway all these depends on your cooking style. if you are just a maggie mee cook, anything will work.
