BH72 8 Report post Posted April 22, 2014 Hi,The big white patch is the "plaster" (should be called putty) that your painter used to cover the cracks? Putty should apply only for small holes and thin layer. Big holes should use mortar (cement + sand + water).Spalling concrete normally happens with old flat, when you knock on it, there should be a hollow sound. You can see the exposed rusty bar inside. If you are in HDB, contact the HDB officer to come over and have a look. Sometimes he can ask his contractor to do for you FOC, sometimes you need to pay half the repair cost.rgds.
patporsh 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2014 I have the same issue. It would be great if you can post what you have done to resolve it.I also do not know how to go about it. Would plastering be bad in this case? Thin hairline crack on ceiling is early sign of spalling concrete?
