mishmash 7 Report post Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Hi everyone! We are new at this t-blogging but we have been ardent fans of reading the blogs posted thus far. We will be getting our keys end March (excited much!) but we reckon that it will be very soon (gasps!). Anyways, we have only started scouting for IDs like two weeks back. And now, we are freaking out.We have only visited two IDs and are unsure whether to pursue more quotations from other IDs. We have many queries about moving forward with our ID choice. We have estimated our budget to be less than $30k, however, we had wanted four settees and a huge-*** dining table with storage and iQuartz top. With these in mind, plus overhauling of both toilets, invisible grills and electrician works, we were quoted $40k. It is a reasonable price for us but we were hoping to get some help from you guys.We would love to hear inputs and recommendations for the following: 1. Estimated cost of one bay window settee2. Estimated cost of carpentry and iQuartz top for dining table (3ft x 6ft) with storage3. Estimated cost of invinsible window grills for half a window for 4 rooms and service yard4. Estimated cost of full-height wardrobes (5ft x 5ft) & (6ft x 3ft)Apart from the estimated costs for the above-mentioned, we would also appreciate it if you guys can recommend some shops or places that sell good quality of such items. We are also concerned about the flooring for our premium flats. We are wondering if the polished porcelain tiles will be in good condition with minimal or no defects. So we are crossing our fingers that everything will be good.We will continue our search online and update you on our reno journey.Cheerios! mishmash 7 Report post Posted March 22, 2014 Hi all!We have been on a long hiatus simply coz we were finalising on our id. Anyhoos, we are **** elated having to collect our keys in two weeks time (which explains the hiatus and desperate need to choose an ID). We will only reveal our ID at the end of our reno journey so that you guys can read about our experience with his service in terms of quality, workmanship and communication. We feel that it is only fair to recommend others our ID only after we have been through the process with him. So far, the only purchases we made were Blanco kitchen sink and faucet as well as EuropAce multi-point water heater from Hoe Kee Tanjong Katong. The salesperson, Mas, was very friendly and helpful. She even recommended a kitchen appliance package to which we politely declined because we have yet to read their reviews. We hope that you guys can enlighten us with reviews on the following items:1. Tecno hob T333TG and hood K2982. Samsung side-by-side fridge RS-552NRUA1J3. Bosch side-by-side fridge KAN-62V004. LG washer W-FT9101Looking forward to hear from you guys! mishmash 7 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Finally, we have collected our keys! Totally psyched up about the upcoming renovation! We made a beeline to OUR house after the whole process at HDB Hub. Checked out the house for a bit and we found that everything seemed smaller... Oh well... Nonetheless, we are anxious to meet up with our ID to have actual measurements of the house before we proceed with the reno. However, we are looking forward for our ID to help us find the possible defects in the house. Here are some pictures of our 4 Room Premium BTO.View of the living room from the front doorView of the kitchen and service yard from the front door which is located just beside itView from the living roomPassagewayToiletLooking forward, we are hoping that the reno will be done by the June holidays! OceanEleven 203 Report post Posted April 2, 2014 We hope that you guys can enlighten us with reviews on the following items:1. Tecno hob T333TG and hood K2982. Samsung side-by-side fridge RS-552NRUA1J3. Bosch side-by-side fridge KAN-62V004. LG washer W-FT9101Looking forward to hear from you guys!I personally do not recommend side by side. The external litres are no doubt bigger than the biggest 2 doors but the internal is actually much smaller.Imagine keep a whole chicken in side by side, one compartment will be full already. 2 doors will still offer more free play.I will rather save the couple of hundreds and put on other items. Also, if the fridge fail, then will have buy back a side by side to fit in the space allocated.Given the layout and small HDB sizes nowadays, big fridge means less table top area for the kitchen.
