Saru 4 Report post Posted July 16, 2014 Haha..glad I read your guys blog on the air-con trunking since I innocently thought air-con would just sprout from the walls without all the trunking and such. Really learning a lot about technical stuff during renovation. I even went to many people's houses to see how it can be done in HDB!Yepz, no choice but to run trunking out along the hallway....just have to see whether have enough money to box it somewhat or decorate it.Btw wanted to ask you neighbours. How much were you quoted for plumbing works?Mine feels expensive at $2250 for the normal, just connecting City Gas heater (exclude cost of Heater), up hot water to shower in MBR toilet and Common Bathroom, cold water to sink in kitchen, MBR and Common Bathroom, install 2 sinks, 1 kitchen sink and toilet bowl. Is that a rip off? Felt like it. Cannot believe Darkwingz got his plumbing for free as included in his ID cost?
bert7332 10 Report post Posted July 17, 2014 Interestingly, my plumbing was also listed as "FOC" in my quote, but i guess that would be packaged into other components of the quote..but $2250 does sound pretty high to me for the scope that you have listed. For City Gas connection, my ID arranged it for me, and i had a $120 sum charged to me in my utilities bill. This connection is only to my hood, not using gas heater

This connection is only to my hood, not using gas heaterI heard that Citygas charges a fee if their plumber connects the gas pipe to the hood. My contractor said it costs around $80 or so. Hence, my contractor hired a certified plumber to connect it coz i felt that since the rates are similar, i rather use an outside source as i can save time.
