It is indeed a lovely space.. and we really love the end result.

For ours is a major renovation - wiring, hacking, plumbing, new carpet flooring... and of course major carpentry and whole house of wallpaper.

Most of our wall surfaces are wallpaper - so we eliminate the need of plastering the whole house and frankly I feel the overall effect is much nicer

even using only solid color wallpaper than paint.. but of course with good installer
