kelsam 1 Report post Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) budget renovation? I see your stuffs dont look like budget .... mmm how to explain.I went through about 12 id around sg. Some better known ones some not so popular ones. All went exactly same specs except kitchen (original idea was a very simple kitchen)I have a total budget of about 80k for this reno.Without appliances and the modular wardrobes, the quotes ranges from 55k to 80k, as there is quite a fair bit of work to be done. Bear in mind its all the same design specified by me. I already know what i want. Everything was hacked away including windows and doors + door frames.I did it all the above including a much upgraded kitchen at about 40k including wardrobe. breakdown in costs as follows :Approximate costsHacking, tiling, plastering of walls : $15kKitchen $11kwardrobe $6kPipping $1500Electricity $1000toilet doors : $700windows : $2800doors : $3000+/- about 40k but i get a much better kitchen and wardrobe systemSo balance budget goes into buy better thingsI am strong believer of paying for what the family uses often. For plumbing, i paid about 500 for materials, already planned for him how to run the pipes etc, paid him 500 for 1 days work.electrician about 400 for materials, 200 per day for 3 days work.
