EMinlove 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 I went to check my doors and they are the same! Could this be an industry practice? But for what purpose? I don't think it is an industry practice. Plus, I am not sure the reason for leaving it 'bare' is meant for expansion/contraction.All my doors are not left 'bare' and it has been 5 years plus and they are still well (no expansion/contraction). *touch wood* though. Whatever the case, if you paint them now, the paint may drop over the side. Best to leave them as they are unless you intend to repaint the whole door again.Makanology, Reiki,KStoh,My ID repainted the door for me already. Looks good and feel good knowing is painted lolxPsychologically at peace that each time I walk pass the doors I will not keep thinking "hmmm, what a crap work" lolx
EMinlove 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Nice reno, EMinlove! Your hubby did the right thing, it is always good to have few plugs at the study area. As is, there'll always be so many devices that need plugs at the study. I always prefer to have dedicated plug for each device and to avoid extension cords to declutter the area.As in the DIY Bird cages (an interesting DIY), how about leave them for now until the whole house is furnished? I guess you will have a better idea when all the bulky items are in place and how you can go about highlighting the bird cages. Hehe, just my 2 cents Reiki,Ya we are taking a pause for now...until most of the stuff in the figure out the lighting. Most of the workers already shutting down for cny. Lets see what happens.. We will try to change the color of the cage if necessary.....worst case maybe have to change different light. Thanks for the suggestion, appreciate it
EMinlove 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) Went down to the house today to do some "cleansing"....my family suggested me to sprinkle a combination of Tea+Salt+Rice at every corner of the house to remove all d evil spirits. Superstitious I know....but oh well, simple task might as well just do it before anything bad happened then we regret ya hahaI opened the door of my house into a pleasant surprise today! Steps on the stairs painted but the handle is not fixed yetAnd check out my cafe!White empty wall will place a bookshelf and shine by the track lightView from my stairs into my dining. Notice the skinny window grill? Yes I changed my mind last minute cost my ID said my initial choice not so sturdy. Close up look of the window grill. Grills only at dining and entrance since my house is by the corridor so feels safer. Heh Edited January 26, 2014 by EMinlove

mavicaste 58 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Very nice theme you have here. The kitchen and balcony gives me a very strong colonial feel to it.I think after the brick walls, the black framed glass panels and doors will be another up and coming trend since we are already seeing them in your place, vicx1234 and very soon, mine.

EMinlove 2 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks Mavicaste,Glad you like it too! Yea I think more and more these days people are moving into industrial style or black & white. We do away with the brick wall coz it cost too much and just do a small portion of the wall does not look that good.Good choice of u to do this theme 👍👍...What stage is your Reno at now? Enjoy the journey! Is super fun to see all the things slowly sets in 😊
