Which Matress Is Good

Recommended Posts

SlannieWong

U sure Goodnite is made in China???

Goodnite is made in Malaysia. By the way, what is wrong with made in China? iPhones are made in China. It is not where it is made that matters it is how it is made.

Slannie is clearly promoting her brand of mattress that she bought. It is also not made in Germany on the website, it clearly states internal parts only.

Hi,

I have tried both brands before. Max Coil are made in Indonesia not Malaysia. If between these two brands, I prefer Magic koil.

Currently, I'm using Goodnite mattress from Malaysia. In terms of comfort and pricing, I think it's a good buy. the reasons why I choose Goodnite is because I google them and found out that they are original products from original factory. Most or all the 'branded' mattress in Singapore are under licensing and they are OEM products which are made by factories is Asia or China.

Here are some of the links I saved when I do my reseach. Hope it helps. Let me know if my homework is wrong. Hehehe...

haven't tried it personally, so i can't comment about the quality, haha.

anyone had problems with Serta's bedframe? I read one horror post on HWZ about the frame having termites or something. But that is just one single review.

I bought serta's lower range during taka sale, it felt good and within my budget. honestly alot of mattresses feel the same to me, my current seahorse felt good too. lol~

HI - has anyone try Max Coil or Magic Coil? Care to share your experience?

As having a good sleep is important, we invested in what we thought was a good mattress from a popular brand back in 2007. We had Orthorest mattress under Dunlopillo. This is supposed to be a very good mattress with Visco elastic memory foam pillow top (provide comfy) and individual pocket spring (provide support and minimum disturbance to your spouse). Initially it performs at stated but after 4.5yrs the memory foam softens. After much follow up, service guy came to check and said the spring is ok. Suggest either replace the pillow top or trade in a new one. We spend $200+ to replace pillow top. However, after 2 yrs, we noticed that both sides of mattress were sagging significantly. Again after calling many times to Dunlopillo, the same service guy came (understand this is the only guy in the company that does servicing) and he came to measure the amount of sagging. The way the measurement was done was not logical and he claimed that we sit on the side that causes sagging to take place. Sagging at side is more than the warranty limit set. Who would sit on the bed for long hours to cause the sagging compare to the amount of time sleeping on it. When we sleep on it, we can feel it slumped inwards (poor support) and aching results. As the pillow top is on top of it, you can't truly see the amount the base has sagged on the inner side. When we buy the mattress, we expect individual pocket spring fr renowned brand should last at least 8-10yrs. But it starts giving us different problem after 4.5yrs. I saw in another thread - Dunlopillo Mattress-comments - another member has the same problem as we faced. They bought it the same time at we do. Service guy suggested we go for Seahorse if we want firm support. ......shock to hear such feedback fr service guy.

With this bad experience, we are looking for other brands. As we are budget constrained, we came across Max Coil (assembled in Malaysia) and Magic Coil (made in Singapore). Wonder does anyone has experience with any of these brands? Thanks.

You can find out more about Magic Koil mattresses here http://www.prestige-affairs.com/pages/how-to-choose-a-mattress

Hope its helpful to you :)

hi pills, i notice you have bought a tempur rhapsody mattress. what made you chose that instead of the cloud as i saw you have posted a thread asking about the tempur cloud. i have bought a tempur cloud 19 queen size mattress at expo sale and was given free 4 pillows. it was an impulse purchase.

to everyone out there who owns a tempur mattress, i want to check whether for mattress protector, must i purchase it from tempur or can i just use other brands from king coil for example? it is also waterproof and is much cheaper.

And for the bedsheets, i was recommended to get tencel bedsheets. I want to have a smooth, soft and of course less warm kind of feel when i lie down. So which types of bedsheets to buy?

not sure about the quality. i only know that it's a local brand that makes and sells beds in singapore only.

personally, i would recommend king koil and sealy if you're looking for better brands. but still, to each his own.

For people with back and shoulder problems, I really do recommend Tempur.

Is it really that good? My wife has should and neck problems...

I heard Tempur is really expensive.

Was thinking of importing Simmons from USA to save money on a good brand mattress....

The idea of a mattress have been really confusing for consumers as the years goes by.

Trust your instinct, make a good and wise comparison, and make your money worth.

The more I see how people market about mattress, I also headache.

Just keep to several rules.

1. If you buy branded, make sure that the model is generic, if it is house model, might as well don't buy.

2. Make sure you are comfortable with throwing the mattress away after 10 years after usage.

3. Do not over stretch your budget.

4. Ask yourself logically whether the marketing claims can work or not.

5. Do not spend anything above 2k for mattress, it is simply over priced.

Ask friends to go along with your mattress shopping.

Go around to check and see feel and touch the mattress.

Let yourself be the judge...

Honestly , if you understand the dynamics of manufacturing, you only can get high quality components from GLOBAL suppliers.

And if you do more homework, the most GLOBAL suppliers are in China. Period. Only people whom understands material vibrancy understands manufacturing.

So whether is it branded or not, whether is it good or not, ask about the components.

These are the variables that are absolute.
