Dear all

I need only bottom cabinets done for my kitchen. I am being quoted as follows:

Custom-made, supply and install carpentry work in selected laminate with ABS trimming

A) Kitchen

1) 4 doors $320

2) 3 Drawers $300

3) 3 soft close motion tracks $90

I am also planning to have platforms done in all my bedrooms. The same contractor quoted me as follows:

B) Master bedroom

1) construct platorm 9"-10" heigth c/w laminate finishes $1800 (90sqft)

2) 4 drawers for platorm in 10ft length $600

C) Bedroom 2

1) construct platorm 9"-10" heigth c/w laminate finishes $1860 (93sqft)

2) 4 drawers for platorm in 10ft length $600

D) Bedroom 3

1) construct platorm 9"-10" heigth c/w laminate finishes $1700 (85sqft)

2) 4 drawers for platorm in 10ft length $600

I hope to get advise on whether this is a reasonable quote as the total is close to $8k.... I would like to be sure I am not over quoted as this is quite a huge amount. Thanks.

Hmmm... platform beds are not cheap... especially the built in to walls kind...

For my point of view . The pricing for the platform beds is reasonable. As the ht is 9" to 10" in laminate finish.

and is using carpentry works to finish ($20 per sqft) . Unlike normal platform 4" to 6" ht using laminate flooring finish

($12 to $15 per sqft)

My two cents take on your pllatform, it isn't cheap. I have platform in my house, ....from my previous house to the current. This company called Systemind Platform http://www.designtray.com/%C2'>

From my past experience with friends who plan to do platform including myself...there isn't one company ....so far...unless I am wrong...can promise to relocate your used platform. The price is comparable with those custom made any wherelse.

If you are really keen, you may wish to contact Jacquline, She does a wonderful job in terms of accessing your floor plan, advise you on how to max your dollar and space.

I have my platform for almost 7years now. We have just moved to our new home and we brought along our platform with us..in fact, I split the platform now servicing my son's room and the study.
