Steven84 0 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Hi all,My 1st post here. I will be getting the keys for my HDB in 1st Q 2014. Now starting to look for ID / contractor. ( I am not too early to do so. am I)Pardon me but I know nuts about Reno as too many advices here and there has been given.. It's only making me more confuse... I have a few questions which hopefully some bros and sis here and advice1. IDs or contractors better?? Or can I do 1/2 contractor 1/2 ID? How to ensure they are reliable and will not run away2. For a new 5room Flat with no flooring. A full reno, how much am I looking at?3. How long does it takes for a 5room flat to be fully reno.4. Are there any recommended ID or Contractors you guys can intro? So far I only comfirmed that my curtain will be coming from this spencer curtain whom my family has been using for years due to the good services and one of the better pricing. ( 97736237 is the no. if anyone interested)Anyway, saw some other forums recommended this and that but not too sure how to identify the real deal and those doing self advertisingThanks for the help. If you are a ID or Contractor.. Feel free to PM me too.. but do not spam here. Thanks
mikeyong500 4 Report post Posted August 27, 2013 Hi Steven88,1) I would suggest consider both suggestions and quotes from IDs and contractors. One of the ways to protect yourselves is by the payment terms and also do read thru the terms and conditions as well.2) Prob ard 50k. Depending on the materials and items you request for.3) 1- 2 mths.4) i can intro my renovator if you dun mind, Juz let me know.Anywayz its not too early to find now. You would rather spend some time earlier to think and decide things thru rather than rushing last minute right?Hope you have a smooth renovation~mikey

Devilaz 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2013 Do not seek your ideas to them first. Maybe they have a better ones? Try to seek around 4 quotes and see their designs. Maybe you can combine their ideas and your own idea will have a better output of your ideal design.Hi Thanks Mike. In order to get the service of contractors.. I will be meeting 2 IDs this sat. probably another 2 next week. Just want to check with the rest of you too. Those ID or contractors firm from the exhibition show. Are they more realiable and better? or their quote will usually be more expensive? Thanks

Devilaz 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) If they ask you to pay beforehand (eg. SGD$200 - SGD$1000) for the design or other things. Well you DO NOT ENGAGE THEM. As all the designs they have been doing they keep repeating. Hi Devilaz,So no need to share ideas with them 1st? okok. I will be meeting 2 IDs this sat. probably another 2 next week.
