Meanwhile, to minimize delays, our contractor proceed with the plastering of the walls and painting the old-based sealer. What hampered our progress was the proposed topping up of 10cm of flooring for our kitchen. RumbleInStyle 9 Report post Posted October 10, 2013 What do you mean by topping up of 10cm to the kitchen flooring?For old 3-NG units, there's a drop of 10cm from the living room the the kitchen, probably to prevent water from overflowing to the living room when doing massive kitchen washing. However, we wanted the kitchen and living to have a level flooring, so we had to "top-up" the floor by 10cm. Previously, the use of foam was allowed, but there was a recent rule change starting that those foam can't be used anymore due to fire safety concerns, so contractors all have to source for alternative fire-resistant material to fill the hole. In this picture there's one vertical grout line going right through the middle. The picture long tile ago had no grout, so it was obvious then. Last week, while in the middle of carpentry work, our first oven arrived and was installed. It’s a Bosch HBN331E2J built-in oven bought from Harvey Norman some time back. We actually searched through but we have to work within size and installation constraints and only a few were suitable. Might get it from there if we can't find any that we like in Singapore.
