plainsharon 20 Report post Posted November 27, 2013 (edited) Day 47Carpenter MeasuringUpdates :Carpenter came in to do measurement by last min arrangement with him. Ah Zhuan is really a easy person to converse for our carpentry. He is one of the sub con doing carpentry for Mr K. As Mr K is away for holiday, we have met up with him to discuss about carpentry. Was going to wait for painting to be up but since he said it will be better before painting so that he could draw on the wall.We end up prepared for the carpentry works with drawings for him and he drew on our rough plan instead. plainsharon 20 Report post Posted November 28, 2013 (edited) Day 48Furniture SourcingWent to look around for furnitures for the past few days or rather we have been looking out for furniture before we gotten our keys but these few days then we went back again to see what are the new things and the sales or promotion available. Not very fulfilling, went to Lush Lush, The Design Store by Lifestorey, Grafunkt, Lorgan's The Retro Store, Hock Siong & Co and Star Living. These are the few which we remembered, there might be some which we missed out.Lush Lush was the first furniture shop we went. Months ago we went and there were lots of furniture and dining table but few days ago we went back again, things have cleared out more or less. However, this Barbarra Chair caught our attention. Thinking that $900 for this chair with ottoman is pretty expensive thus we dint commit on the spot, however after looking around we might get this lounge chair. The Design Store by Life Storey Was the second shop we went as it was located opp road of Lush Lush. They have really interesting furniture with innovative designs. One of the Sofa that capture our attention was this :We love the colour and design but looking at the pricing, though its been discounted, its quite steep for us, not sure if its a good investment GrafunktWas another awesome store we went, alot of the furniture we saw suit our theme but the price is really far too away from our budget but Hubby still loves them :[image from Grafunkt FB]Lorgan's The Retro StoreWe fell in love with this lounge chair and it was similiar to barbarra chair its call the Papa Bear Chair :[image from Lorgan FB] Hock Siong & CoWas a great place my mom brought me to and it sells some great re-furnish 2nd hand furniture + in great price. plainsharon 20 Report post Posted November 30, 2013 (edited) Day 50Painting CommenceFirst Layer of painting is up for ceiling + wallsBut painter, painted over the copper gas pipe which we wanted to retain the original state :Might have painter to wash away the colour painted, not sure if there might be any side effects for keeping the gas pipe in copper.Mr. K false ceiling person really did a really "dirty" job in the false ceiling, right after the false ceiling is up, we came to site to find lots of white paint and putty on the floor. Putty can be as huge as a huge rock big. Mr K said it could be removed after chemical wash but its really ALOOOT! But maybe because they were rushing to finish the ceiling? Another issue is the false ceiling worker did this to my brick wall. Need extra work to wash it :Tomorrow will be commencing the setting up of light fixtures or setting up the switches.Looking back at the To-Do-List we are suppose to do while Mr. K is away to find that we have cleared most of it. To-Do-List1. Mr K will be inspecting the False Ceiling tomorrow and arrange for initial round of painting if everything goes well, it should be able to start painting on wednesdayFriday2. Get Wall Color Samples from Mr K3. Cleaning up and Clearing Debris should be done before Wall Painting4. Arrange for Lighting to be install while Mr K is away after the painting [Arrange and will be executed tomorrow, looking to see the light finally~] 5. While arranging for Lighting fixture, arrange for carpentry to come for measurement6. Not forgetting to request for Laminate Samples. Should be using Lamitak as Mr. K suggested7. Arrange for Aircon installation after lighting is done. [in the midst of arranging] Edited December 2, 2013 by plainsharon
