Hi Fellow Bloggers....

I have just newly registered my account in Renotalk. I will be getting my 5 room premium BTO flat at Yishun Natura (117sq m). We do estimate that we will be getting the kets sometime 1st quarter next year. Hence, we are currently sourcing for IDs/ contractors to do our dream home. So I thought I start something on my renovation journey and hopefully get some advices from you guys

We have already went to get some quotations from some the IDs that have written to us via renotalk. All are slightly out of our budget. Not too sure if it was us asking for too much or them asking for too much.

Well, so far, the IDs that we have met up and given us a quote are the following:

1) Ciseern - visited them during the Singapore Expo on Saturday. Total renovation cost will cost about 40K.

2) De Style Interior - quoted close to 39K

3) Ken Home Design and Construction - quoted about 30K.

4) Urban Design - Quoted about 37K

My budget is somewhere at 30K to 35K. The following main items are what I am planning to do.

1) Kitchen Cabinets (Top and Bottom for 1 side of the Kitchen and bottom cabinets only for another side of the kitchen)

2) A full height Shoe Cabinet

3) A TV feature wall with craftstones and a TV console

4) Wooden decking for my balcony

5) False ceiling with cove lightings on the living room and master bedroom and corridor

6) Feature wall on master bedroom and a TV console

7) A Japanese Tatami style bedroom on bedroom 2 with wardrobes

8) Vanity table and shower screen on master bedroom

9) Standard Mansory works, paintings, plumblings and electrical works

ID selections are my biggest concerns and would appreciate some advices and recommendations.

Based on progress, I guess its possible to get it 1st or 2nd quarter next year, including all the checks by HDB.

Hi there fellas,

It has been quite some time since I last logged in to update. Well, our search for an ID to do up our renovations is finally over. Basically, we have chosen * Interior as our ID. We will be putting our signature to the contract agreement next month though due to the 7th month. Missus do not want any commitments during this period of time.

The reason why we chose *:

1) Their quote is the best we could get ($26,888) inclusive of GST.

2) We feel that the designer in charge of our project is able to grasp what we need to do up for our home. He is also attentive to details and can understand our concept and seem responsive to our questions.

This is what we will actually be doing for our place.

1) A TV wall feature + console that will span across the whole wall connecting to the full height shoe cabinet

2) A 5 feet full height shoe cabinet

3) False ceiling for the living room, passage-way, and master bedroom

4) A half height mirror in the dining room

5) Top and Bottom cabinet for the kitchen

6) 6 ft full height wardrobe in the master bedroom

7) 5 feet full height wardroom in the 2nd bedroom

8) A japanese style platform bed in the 2nd bedroom

9) Shower screen and Vanity Table in the master bedroom toilet

10) Standard Mansory works, painting works, plumbing works and electrical works
