dexufto 5 Report post Posted June 24, 2013 Yes I think need good filter to get read of PM2.5 particles..As I understand, any purifier using the Hepa is good enough to filter the PM 2.5 particles. If I may simplify; pm2.5 refers to particulate matter that is of 2.5 Microns in size. Hepa is a filer that is capable to filter off particles that is up to 0.3 Mircons (anything more than 0.3 microns),so does your N95 Mask. The only unfortunate thing is that purifiers have all sold out island-wide. EdensMom 8 Report post Posted June 24, 2013 For haze, it needs to have HEPA filter and a good air flow rate ..... think of Honeywell, Blueair, Sharp. Don't get something cheap. Also make sure its capacity is right for your room. The plasmacluster / ioniser function doesn't really help haze. It is for viruses and bacteria in the air. So, it is a helpful function for minmising flu, etc. Most of the best air purifiers also have an ionising function, and a humidifying function.
pills 6 Report post Posted June 24, 2013 Does ioniser emit ozone as a by-product?
EdensMom 8 Report post Posted June 26, 2013 Ioniser do not emit ozone necessarily. Some models can. Be careful, as ozone and haze go VERY BADLY together. Try to avoid ozone when the weather is like this.
