If scv is bad, my opinion is mio is worse! But paying for the vpn is also cheaper than paying the video shop for tvb rentals!!! (Ok, I ain't so tech savvy. Really old-fashioned and outdated! )

Yup, it has started. Built-in cabinets, false ceiling, electrical points are the first things to modify. Will take a pic later if possible.

Went shopping again. This time bought the outstanding lights needed for the house and a fan. Got a 48" Crestar Swift Air. If you ask me how is this model different from the others, I probably won't be able to tell you. They all look almost the same to me!

Eh... "live" ah? I'm not sure.

Since I see "soccer" listed in the brochure, maybe got, but as to what type, from where, which season, etc, I don't know. Those EPL type, I really cannot answer you. Maybe you would like to ask macuser77?

As this is my second time renovating my home, I see similarities between how electricians work even if they are from different companies. My first reno was in 2010 and this year is my next. I am convinced that they absolutely love their wires and trunkings so much so that they run them everywhere! The more the merrier! While I try to emphasize the need to make the walls aesthetically pleasing to my eye and to conceal the white brackets whenever possible, their sense of beauty is otherwise.

I went to my place this afternoon and I was wondering why were there so many brackets running everywhere in a particular room, so I asked the electrician who was there still working about 1 particular wall. So he said, " Parallel to window is original wiring, the plugs moved to centre of wall so that one is new." I was like "ok, what about from the plugs to the cupboard? What's that wire for?" He replied, "Oh! That's empty. Nothing inside. It looks nicer on the wall if the brackets don't stop halfway."

I went ???

I think my jaws dropped and I was not sure if I was amused then or dumbfounded! While I appreciate his effort to make the room look "nicer", I could not give a positive reply, so I left it as that and did not say anything. But I must say that he is very accommodating when I asked him to make other changes which involved more work like changing locations and routes.

I shall learn to try to appreciate the beauty of having a full line from wall to wall running parallel to my floor even when half of it serves no practical function. 10 days!

On a different note, yay, (but boo, old TV plug cannot be removed.) Nevermind, all will be concealed with a cabinet. :D

Oh, there's one more to add: OpenNet's termination point! Previous owner did not invite them in and now I need to pay $235 and how many cents? It was free! Why didn't they just accept it?

Not very old "old folks" who were seldom at home! They got lots of TV points and tel points though! Maybe they thought it would ruin their decor, but hey, gahmen give free, just take!

Today is delivery day. Started at 10am and ended at 2.30pm

DSC_0344.jpg

First to arrive is from Lightings.com.sg. They called up like 2 days ago and again 30min before delivery to confirm. Prompt.

Next is from Megaman Lighting. I can't remember but I think they didn't call to confirm delivery but again, delivery was prompt.

Then 168 Trading arrived with the ceiling fan. Good too.

Design Light came next. Said before 2pm and arrived just before 2pm! Chatty old uncle. Made me laugh when he asked me the flat purchase price and told me it was "cheap"! He's the only one ever to say that. As he talked on and on, he also slowly took out the items for me to check.

Last from Adamas. Called yesterday to say 3pm, but I said that it was "so late", so they tried to schedule earlier. Came about 2.20pm. This time, slow old uncle. Took out the items one by one and ticked them against the delivery order. Before he could tick the next item, I had already located and counted all the items!

But, overall, the delivery was good for all of them. Now, I'm just not sure about any defective items. Will only know after installation.

Altogether, the following items arrived today:

1. 3 toilet lights

2. 3 kitchen led lights

3. 2 bedroom pll lights

4. Tracklight and 4 bulbs

5. 1 dining light

6. 1 3.5w led downlight

7. 8 10w led downlight

8. 1 mini crystal pendant lamp

9. 1 ceiling fan

10. 1 heater with rainshower

11. 2 2-way tap

12. 1 bidet with tap

13. 1 bathroom sink set with tap

14. 1 kitchen tap

15. 1 basin tap

16. 1 washing machine tap

17. 1 toilet paper holder

18. 1 clock

Actually, the aircon guy from Gain City came even earlier and they left the last. Maybe I'm lucky, but thumbs up to the installation guy and his kaki. He studied the existing layout, made suggestions, gave his opinion and also asked for my feedback before proceeding with the installation. Came at 10am and left about 5pm. As they worked, his kaki kept clearing the debris even though there was cardboard protection on the floor. Attitude was positive and generally seemed very serious in his work. According to him, he had been doing installations for more than 10 years. Anyway, I think it was nicely done.
