Our 温馨 5-Room 小狗窝

Recommended Posts

Booked a dining table with Honmage also. Only seen on catalogue. 1.8m. Hardly shopped around for this as we liked what we saw in the catalogue book...

Oak top with white grain legs. Only seen on catalogue. Hope it turns out good!

Most important was child friendliness. No edges (though ironically, my tv console can't be rounded cos Mr. B says look will suffer... maybe have to put those child bumpers on the edges ...)

Guess with everything it's compromise. Glass is practical in cleaning up but fingerprint stains ...

White top looks clean but hard to maintain. Easily yellow/stain.

Opted for woody look but with some white legs for a modern touch.

Image from the catalogue.

Chairs we still deciding. No rush...

Otherwise what was on display in honmage showroom is very little. But you can book stuff from their catalogue. The chairs there are not comfortable enough. Also very few on display. So we will look elsewhere for that.

sorry? don't understand what u mean.

sure it's quite extravagant to build a false ceiling just for 4 -5 down lights. But if u have multiple downlights. u will realise the benefit when ur kid is sleeping with u. essentially it will serve the purpose of a very expensive night light lol  Dark enough for kid to sleep but still bright enough to do your own stuff after they zzz

What I meant was the total cost involved for false ceiling plus down lights. Estimated LED down light plus wiring & installation, approx. $100 each. If there are 5 down lights in the rooms, throw in cost of false ceiling, easily crosses the 1k mark. :bleah:

By the way, how do you group the switches for the down lights?

Eg. 6 down lights, 2 lights per switch or???

Sure. It's an extra cost. Aesthetic reason only. It's definitely a frill if u want to get downlight.

MBR is 2 switches for 2 lights each. 1 more for the small passageway leading to MBR.

My Living + Dining area has a total of 11 down lights and 1 pendant light.

Chioh must pay a price.

Waiting for my downlights to reach SG.

This will be lightings week. Heading into JB later this week to take a look at some lights. Hopefully can buy something there! If not then we will buy the remainder from SG chopchop this week.

The renovation is stuck while waiting for me to get the lights, then electrician can put them up before taking off the cardboard for chemical wash. Then finally its for installation of cabinets.

Then the WC will be changed this week.

Had a discussion with Mr B and carpenter together on friday regarding carpentry.

2 feature walls - living room and my MBR (to hide all the stupid wires). Purely aesthetic reasons. Looks for a price :deal:

Also carpentry for kitchen and the wardrobes.

Paint is up for the house!. No pictures though. Don't think can see much on HP camera anyway.

Went JB yesterday. Don't have any pictures to show as forgot to take them.

Went to Tampoi Lighting Center and Starworld to look at lights.

The range of lights was lesser than i expected. I guess with only 2 - 3 shops, can't expect much. More lights available in jalan besar or balestier...

Bought a series of MIC 3 small black cone lights for dining table, look something like this. $137RM

http://www.tomdixon.net/products/us/cone-light-small

Got this from Tampoi Lighting center for my girl's room. $331 RM.

Some of the philips lights i see at lightings.com.sg not available there also.

Need to still get 2 ceiling lights for bedroom 3 & kitchen. 2 x toilet lights. 2 x bomb shelter and service yard. Have to get them this weekend to prevent further delay in renovation!

Downlights from china all arrived. Seem to be adequately made. Hopefully non are defective though i bought 3 spares.

Bought my lights from lightings.com.sg. What can i say, i grew up with a lot of philips products in my house (my aunty works for them).

The kitchen and Bedroom 3 lights are the same as what i posted earlier.

Bought some smaller lights for the other areas as well.

Going to self collect the above lights later today. Light installation arranged for tuesday. Aircon installation on Wed morning. Then chemical wash!

WC installed. Sliding glass door for MBR toilet installed.

Reaching the 75% mark soon.

No photos as I've been sick.

Bought some toiletries racks to be used in shower area from Songcho.

Not cheap but based on the reviews about it's rust resistant properties, hopefully will be $ well spent! :sport-smiley-018:
