Laying Tiles

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My ID charged me $8 per sq ft for laying homogeneous tiles for living, dining and bedrooms with selection of tiles up to $3, including skirting. Is it reasonable?

He also charged me 20% more than the actual size for wastage e.g. for a room of 100 sq ft, he charged me 100 * 1.2 * $8 = $960. Is this the normal practice?

For the 2 toilets' wall tiles, he charged me $4000. Is it reasonable?

Thanks.

Mine is 5I flat too. Both toilets are of the same size 230 cm x 140 cm x 270 cm (height). $4,000 is only for laying of wall tiles with selection of homo tiles up to $3 for both toilets. For toilet floor, he charged me $800. So, it is $4,800 for laying tiles for both wall and floor for both toilets excluding hacking etc. Hacking, removal of items etc are charged separately, about $5000 for the whole house. Water proofing is also charge separately, $700 for 2 toilets and kitchen.
