Let's Go Punggol!

Recommended Posts

I guess it depends on the tracks used. My full height frosted glass doors have been serving me well for >10 years and each door is about 1m in length, so it's a huge and heavy door.

I agree with you that in the eyes of fengshui, avoid any reflective surface that is facing your bed. Even TVs they advised against it.

Hi MiracleSG (Nice name btw),

Thanks for the information. At least I'm feeling a little comfort that I didn't splash the extra cash for a glass sliding door wardrobe only for it to damage easily. However, I guess it's all about the daily usage and maintenance of the wardrobe. I will be super duper extra careful on my wardrobe so that it can last more than 20 years. Hahahahaha! Kinda ambitious huh!:lol::lol:

As for the part about fengshui, sorry but I'm not exactly a fengshui person, even though my parents and sister are constantly harping about it to me. They warned me about " the reflection on the glass sliding door" and "not good to have feet or head facing the bedroom doors", but I didn't heed their advices (Sorry I have to admit I'm little stubborn on these :( ).

So u r really using glass arh? OMG! That'll so so nice!! (Wah full-ht tampered - i supposed it's partially frost? - glass sliding doors.. must hv cost a bomb!)

I'm ok with glass or reflective laminate, but I'm one who never like mirror. So although i was advised to use mirrors to create a more spacious feel i straightaway rejected the ideal! LOL!

Yeah I'm using glass cause I think it looks very pretty  .

However, like what you say, it cost a bomb for the upgrade. To be precise, a whooping 400 bucks! :~

I'm hoping that I make the right choice. Hahaha!

I also wanna install mirrors initially in the living hall so that the whole area will look spacious. However, after thinking the holes it will burn in my pockets and also the unglam sight of fingerprints all over the mirrors, I decided to abandon the idea and keep my walls simple. Haha! :yeah:

Hahaha! Yeahhh, I putting heart after MiracleSG also share his/her experience with glass sliding door wardrobe, so no problem about that. :notti:

LOL! I'm like you, a plain John, so I hardly look myself in the mirrors. Sometimes I don't even look at myself in the mirror before rushing out of house, so mirrors are pretty useless tool in my bedroom. However I'm still gonna buy a few and install in the house for the ladies (ie my mom & sis) staying with me, and probably probably if I'm married in the future, for my future wife. Hahaha!:lol::lol:

Yeah of course, she's my only sibling (妹妹), of course I am good to her :drunk: , although I always squabble with her over trivial issues. Hahaha!

She's getting her BTO soon too, probably end of the year or early next year, so she will be moving out soon. I guess that vacant room will be kept as my entertainment room or perhaps for my future daughters (if I have daughters) when I get married. But first, I must find a girlfriend first. WAHAHAHAHAHA!:lol::lol:

My current one is full frosted. Cost wise I don't know coz it was done some time in 2003 by my parents. :D

Yours is $400 for what size? I got back the same contractor/ID who did my current place (a.k.a. my parents' place) and was quoted $150 per 1m frosted glass door for wardrobe. I find it quite reasonable but due to superstitions, we will not be doing glass doors ( :~ ) and even had to hide the TV in the wardrobe.

This means gotta diligently close the doors every night before we sleep.

Anyway all these are still concept coz we haven't selected anyone after almost 6 months!!!:bangwall:

A top up of $400 for a 7 feet wardrobe. Not sure if it's expensive.

Wah! :jawdrop: Hide the TV in the wardrobe! I doubt I can diligently close the wardrobe doors every night cause I'm a little forgetful at times. Hahaha!

You haven't selected an ID/Contractor even after going through the process for 6 months? OMG! Hahahaha... I chose mine within a month cause I'm pretty lazy to make appointments with them constantly and repeating the same thing, hahaha... :P

Good luck on your selection! :good:

I am lazy too, that's why meet 1 per weekend. :)

Hahaha.. Meeting 1 per weekend is a tiring chore. Maybe you can restrict yourself to a maximum of 10 IDs in total so that you don't need to repeat the same story to a new ID every weekend and also have an easier time making decision on who you wanna select for your renovation.

Anyway have an awesome weekend man! :jammin:

Heading down to my Punggol house later in the afternoon to check out the progress of the renovation works. Have not been monitoring it for a week, so I hope Mr ID won't disappoint me with another week of slow progress again.

Anyway, it's the start of the Great Singapore Sales (GSS) peeps! Get ready your wallet/purse and let the shopping game ..........................BEGIN! :sport-smiley-004:

May the 'shopping' odds be ever in your favour.

Adiós! :seeya:

Wow! For a first-timer like you, to coordinate all the work yourself rather than reliance on your ID is really something all renotalk folks will respect about. Anyway if you need to find any resources, please feel free to let us know, we'll try our best to assist you since it's a tough job for you to oversee your renovation.

My renovation cost is pretty good (what's even better is that there's NO GST! :dribble: ), this is something I'm pretty thankful to 3D Innovative. However the slow progress for my house's renovation is certainly adding more negative marks to their scorecard. I will pm you the cost when I'm done with my work in the office. Give me a couple of days okay? :P

Your electrician deserve a ice-cold beer for his effort to work on public holidays! Give that man a Tiger! Hahaha! :yamseng:

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks in advance, so far I still can get what I need. If I can't find, I will post here for the help.

NO GST. I like that. Mostly all mine also no GST. Yeah :)

Thank you for pm me the quote, I will go through every detail and compare it with all my contractors that have quote me. Hehehehehe

Hahahaha..My electrician should treat me instead because I accompany his wife the whole day sit outside my flat and chatting, while waiting for him to finish the work.
